Art of Losing: A single column and beginner level predicament ties

This class will teach a single column tie and focus on how to create predicament positions that can be made using only single columns on the floor. Predicaments are an excellent way to intensify and connect in your scenes. This class will allow you to include them in your rope scenes regardless of your level of experience.

Predicaments are a way to put your partner in a lose-lose situation, placing them in positions where they can sink into one type of discomfort or another. This type of play can invoke suffering and pain while pushing a bottom’s stamina. This class will give you hands-on opportunities to learn and practice some of these positions as well as ideas to create your own predicament scenarios. You will learn how to negotiate for these types of scenes, tie a non-collapsing single column tie, tie a calf tortuous calf binder, and create different stress positions using the single column and half hitches. We will also discuss ways to intensify your predicaments and create your own. While a lot of other bondage tools can be used in predicaments, we will focus on using only rope (and probably some bottle caps). After this class, tops will leave with working knowledge of how to tie a single column tie and use it to create challenging positions and situations. Bottoms will leave with experience in these positions and tips and tricks for processing and bottoming in predicaments.

Skil Prerequisite:
This workshop is appropriate for all skill levels.

Bring:
~4-6 x 26-30 ft lengths of rope. (a small amount of loaner rope will be available)
~Device to cut rope.
~Blanket or barrier to lay down between you and the floor.
~Device to take notes

Bios:

Cinder (He/Him) is a queer, sadistic, switchy top with a penchant for hitting butts with things and tying up people of all sizes, gender, and abilities. He is fascinated with the dichotomy of pain for pleasure, and loves watching screams turn to snorts and giggles.
Cinder feels most himself when telling dad jokes, and in service to our community in the form of DMing, hosting events, and education at every opportunity. He also loves nerding out about all aspects of rope bondage, impact play, toy making, cigars/play/service, and BDSM in general. He is proud to be a graduate of the 2022 Bondage Soup cohort.

MxJosiePosie (They/She) is a queer, Poly, Ace, sadistic brat and giggle-snorting switch, with a passion for education and creative expression. Josie loves collaborating with people to create unique experiences through the use of rope, and impact while fostering genuine human connection and personal transformation through these experiences. They are passionate about working with newbies, queer, LGBTQIA2S+ folx, people with trauma that has restricted their personal kink exploration, and those wanting to push their edges and thresholds to discover their deepest desires and personal strengths through kink. Josie co-hosts the Spanktuary play party (with their partner Cinder) at Sanctuary Club, and is a graduate of Bondage Soup at Ropenspace.
