**Boundless Rope Experience w/ Class on Lower Body Harnesses (Building Blocks of Rope Bondage)

Tie the person not a pattern.

Please join us for the Boundless Rope Experience (“BRE”)

Schedule:

  • Doors Open: 3pm
  • Class: 3:30-4:30pm
  • Meet & Greet Activity: 4:30-5:30pm
  • Tie & Lab: 5:30-6:30pm

Class Description: Lower Body Harnesses: Tying the Person, Not just a Pattern

In this class, will talk about lower body and hip harnesses. There are a few styles we will discuss: a ‘gunslinger’, a futo (or bound leg), and a hip harness. At BRE, we will discuss the elements important to creating the lower body harness such as risk profile, what is comfortable (or uncomfortable), and the purpose of the harness to help to decide which type of harness to chose. We will also cover a pattern for a suspendable hip harness, a gunslinger, and a futo if time allows. But more important than the patterns, we will discuss why/how and placement choices.

If you missed the earlier classes on single columns, frictions, and connecting rope, come right at 3pm so we can go over those skills again. If you’d like to help TA (and help a newer group learn some of the skills), please reach out!

For those who want to drill or learn their single columns, here are two of my favorite tutorials: https://vimeo.com/143109618 (Shay w/ a larks head SC) and
https://crash-restraint.com/ties/66 (Topologist’s Somerville Bowline).

Anytime during a Boundless event, please feel free to opt out of the facilitated activities and tie in the designated areas (generally the back half of the club).

Bring your rope, safety cutter, snacks, and your water bottle. Dress code is something you can tie and/or be tied in. If you are staying for the event following BRE, please bring something you can change into. Generally, Sanctuary has a ‘dress to impress/make an effort’ dresscode for most evening events.

What is the Boundless Rope Experience?
We aim for:

  • A learning and labbing environment to teach one another and explore rope in community
  • An invitation to make new friends who are interested in rope
  • A body neutral and welcoming event for all
  • A sober, fun, and potentially sexy (but not sexual) space
  • Embracing all types/genres of rope without judgment so long as practices are consent-forward and mitigate risk of injury

Every month, MxBliss will facilitate a class with the aim of sparking conversation/debate, sharing information, and encouraging exploration. While framed as a series, you are free to drop in at any time in the series. Except for the Suspension Class, no pre-requisites for labbing. Also, a tying partner is not required for any of the classes as most technical skills we are covering can be self-tied.

Boundless Rules:

  • All partnered rope must be prenegotiated prior to any play/labbing/scene
  • Uplines must be reinforced (reinforced jute or hemp) or synthetic (Posh, nylon, MFP, or other rope rated for marine, climbing, or rescue)
  • Normal Sanctuary rules about prohibited play: i.e. No neck rope, breath-, race-, rape-, or blood-/scat-/wet- play
  • No mind altering substances during Boundless. The bar is closed.
  • If you can’t be kind and courteous to everyone you engage with at Boundless, consider going to another event. Direct communication, setting and enforcing boundaries, and being able to say (and receive with gratitude) “No. Thank you!” are all kind and courteous behaviours at Boundless.

+Price: $25/$27cc. Please DM the organizer if you are unable to afford the event at least 2 weeks in advance for a scholarship seats or to volunteer.

++Sanctuary is wheelchair accessible. If you have other accessibility questions or requests, please DM the organizer at least 2 weeks prior to the event.

+++Folks of all identities are welcome Boundless, though the producer is a queer femme POC and aims to center the experiences of queer, trans, POC and other underrepresented people in rope.

++++ Sanctuary is 21+, LGBTQ+, ADA, anti-racism, and celebrates diversity. Enter on Ninth

at - calendar-day-dark
Presented by Erica Leroye Whether roleplay is already one of your favorite ways to play, or the word makes you think, “That’s not really my thing,” this workshop offers a fresh way in. Bi Night

at - at recur-darkcalendar-multiday-dark
Thursday we celebrate bisexual humans! As owners of Sanctuary, we have the opportunity to talk to many different people with many different lifestyles. So, why Bi-Night when every night is kind of already Bi-Night? Well, easily the most disrespected group in our circles are bi-sexuals; bi-men in particular, though rarely intentionally. We admire the brave […]
