Consent in Kink: Building Trust, Boundaries, and Brave Spaces with Byson Rynhart [hosted by The PLA]

Advanced registration is required for this class! Click here to register!

Consent is the heartbeat of kink and BDSM—it’s what turns intense play into mutual pleasure, and what separates healthy dynamics from harm. This class is a deep, real-world guide to understanding, negotiating, and practicing consent within the kink lifestyle. Whether you’re brand new or an experienced player, this workshop is designed to help you navigate the emotional, physical, and ethical dimensions of consent with clarity and confidence.

Together, we’ll explore how consent works differently in power exchange, primal scenes, pick-up play, and long-term dynamics. We’ll break down the different models of consent (from SSC to RACK to PRICK), and why consent is not a one-time “yes” but an ongoing, living agreement. We’ll also dive into tools like negotiation checklists, safe words, and aftercare strategies to help you and your partners co-create experiences that are safe, satisfying, and sustainable.

This class emphasizes communication skills, personal agency, and compassionate boundaries—whether you’re a Top, bottom, switch, or simply curious. We’ll talk about how to give, get, and withdraw consent without shame or guilt, how to spot red flags, and how to foster trust even in edgy or spontaneous play.

Expect a mix of lecture, storytelling, practical exercises, and group discussion. You’ll leave with language you can actually use, tools that work in real scenes, and a stronger understanding of what makes kink both ethical and exhilarating.

This class is for adults of all identities, genders, bodies, and experience levels. It’s sex-positive, trauma-informed, and judgment-free.
