International Shibari star Jonathan of Seattle Shibari returns to Sanctuary!!! In addition to being a charismatic, featured performer all over the world, he is also a tremendous teacher of this beautiful and sensual art.
**NOTE: each ticket purchase admits 2 people to the workshop**
Japanese-style rope bondage is hot, beautiful, and intense. Come learn the basics in a fun, supportive environment with Seattle Shibari!
In this three-hour workshop, we’ll explore the fundamentals of Shibari. Expect quality instruction in:
Consent & Communication
Rope Handling Skills
Foundational Shibari Ties and Knots
Ideas for Rope Play

We’ll also examine anatomy & safety issues associated with rope bondage, and learn tips & tricks for tying your partner smoothly. Each duo/couple will receive a handout to accompany the workshop.
To ensure quality instruction for each student, this workshop is limited to 8 tying pairs.
Prerequisite: None. This workshop is appropriate for all genders, sexual orientations, and body types.
This workshop requires proof of vaccination or proof of recovery to attend. Simply bring your proof of vaccination card or other relevant documentation with you to the workshop–you will be able to discreetly show it to the event organizers upon entry.

Jonathan has taught numerous sold-out workshops, and teaches & performs internationally. Sappho is an unabashed lover of rope who brings expertise in Latin dance forms and a spirit of sensual inquiry to her kinbaku. She and Jonathan have tied together for several years in numerous countries, including Japan. Sappho combines a methodical analysis of physical movement with a deep knowledge of neuro-anatomy in her approach to rope bottoming, and loves to share this knowledge with others.
