This is NOT a workshop for someone that is new to the BDSM & Kink community such that it is best if the attendee of this workshop has been in the community for at least three years. The reason being is there are some very fundamental concepts such as etiquette that will NOT be covered in the workshop as it will be assumed that the attendee already knows this stuff. Additionally, while you may not know everything there is to know about the community, having experienced BDSM/Kink events and parties, over the years, will enable one to know what is normal and acceptable for BDSM/Kink play.

However, if you are NEW to the community you can attend to learn what a Dungeon Monitor (DM) does and does NOT do, which will hopefully give you a better appreciation of what DMs do at events and parties in the community. Then after getting some more experience in the community, and ideally taking classes on various BDSM/Kink topics, you can RE-TAKE this class, as you will not recall nor will you be able to relate, what was being discussed in this workshop without the perspective that can only come with some years of experience, as well as more focused BDSM/Kink training.

Becoming a DM is a great way to give back to the community, at the same time feeling WAY more connected to the community. Keep in mind, even if you are experienced in the community, being a DM is not for everybody, as individuals definitely have to feel comfortable when interacting with total strangers to defuse: awkward, difficult or…in VERY rare instances…dangerous situations. So, it is really important to know yourself before taking on the role of being a DM, but taking this workshop can help you toward that journey as well!
