Secure Base Touch: Masturbation as Attachment Re-patterning
We are thrilled to welcome back Erica Leroye, Certified Sexological Bodyworker, somatic sex educator, and founder of Creative Body Release for her presentation on “Secure Base Touch: Masturbation as Attachment Re-patterning.”
Many of us in sex-positive communities have explored attachment styles and this framework has become a way to better understand our relationships and get closer to compersion. Most attachment work focuses on relational dynamics with family and partners, giving tools for thinking our way into change. Erica’s groundbreaking approach offers a somatic invitation to explore how solo sex can become a pathway for noticing and working with patterns that begin deep in the body and impact the mind, causing activity and reactivity even when we don’t mean to. Through her 12+ years of masturbation coaching and over two decades of work training early childhood caregivers and educators in applied attachment theory, Erica will share with us how solo sex habits mirror early imprints (welcome, delight, confusion, neglect) and how self-touch can be a path of conscious repatterning to cultivate safety, trust, and erotic agency. Whether you are new to “Attachment” or have been exploring it through other means, this night will “Broaden” the conversation through idea sharing, activities, and more.
BroadCast is Sanctuary’s monthly live gathering for the broad spectrum of women, fem-identifying, genderqueer, and gender expansive folks who find a home in women’s spaces and who are living and exploring lifestyle, swinging, polyam, consensual non-monogamy, and other sex positive non-vanilla ways of being in the world. BroadCast is a unique and lively circle of support where we gather monthly to drink drinks, be ourselves, ask questions, share ideas, evoke empathy and compassion, and share lots of laughter!
BroadCast gathers the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm, which is followed by Bi-Night at 9:00 pm (cis-men are welcome to enter starting with Bi-Night at 9:00 pm). BroadCast event fee is $5 and this gets you into both BroadCast and Bi-Night. Doors close at 8:00 pm for this event, so please be sure to arrive by that time.
