SUMMARY:BroadCast: Rethinking “Roleplay”
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Erica Leroye\n\nWhether roleplay is already one
of your favorite ways to play\, or the word makes you think\, “That
s not really my thing\,” this workshop offers a fresh way in.\n\nWe o
ften think of roleplay as costumes\, scripts\, scenes\, fantasy\, gaming
\, or something “other people do.” At our August Broadcast\, Erica L
eroye invites us to expand our thinking: roleplay is already happening i
n how we move through daily life shifting between the many roles\, ident
ities\, responsibilities\, archetypes\, and relational positions we inha
bit.\n\nCultural and media narratives can shape\, and sometimes limit\,
the way we imagine sex roles\, performance\, and what roleplay is “sup
posed” to be. This gathering will open up a wider\, more playful frame
work that we can use solo\, partnered\, and in community. What if our se
xual self is not just one more role to perform or compartmentalize? What
if erotic and creative energy can become the lubricant that helps us mo
ve between roles with more fluidity\, resilience\, playfulness\, and cho
ice?\n\nWe’ll also touch upon roleplay as a kind of erotic rehearsal l
ab: a safe-enough\, playful-enough space to practice what real life asks
  of us — especially in poly\, kinky\, swinging\, queer\, and sex-posit
ive communities.\n\nDrawing on Erica’s work in somatic sex education\,
  intimacy choreography\, erotic performance\, and embodied play\, we’l
l experiment with simple practices that help us move more freely between
the roles we already juggle in life with more intention\, authenticity\
, and lightheartedness.\n\nBroadCast gathers the first Thursday of each
month at 7:00 pm\, which is followed by Bi-Night at 9:00 pm (cis-men are
welcome to enter starting with Bi-Night at 9:00 pm). Doors close at 8:0
0 pm for this event\, so please be sure to arrive by that time. BroadCas
t’s event fee is $5.00 and this gets you into both BroadCast and Bi-Ni
 ght.\n\nSanctuary is 21+ LGBTQ+\, ADA\, anti-racism\, and celebrates div
 ersity.
