Jealousy is a natural emotion that profoundly impacts relationships with ourselves and others and it is one of the most common topics we spend time unpacking in ENM/polyamory. Left unaddressed, it can erode trust, breed resentment, and harm mental well-being. However, when we learn to understand and navigate it, jealousy can be a gateway to deeper self-awareness and a springboard to intimacy with our partners.
Although jealousy is often seen as a negative, uncomfortable emotion, it’s something nearly everyone will experience. Mononormative culture often teaches us that jealousy is something that we fix by asking our partners to change – don’t be friends with your ex, don’t wear that hot outfit, don’t follow that model on social media – but this creates traps, not trust, and does nothing to heal our own insecurities.
In ENM/polyamorous culture, we encourage confronting jealousy head-on and skillfully. There is absolutely hope for lessening the impact of jealousy, from the initial sting to the subsequent fear & rumination.
Are you ready to learn to make peace with the “green-eyed monster?”
In this workshop, you will:
-
Learn the myths, facts, and most common causes of jealousy
-
Learn ways that unhealthy coping patterns can feed mistrust and shrink your world
-
Learn and practice healthy strategies for navigating jealousy and expanding your heart including:
-
Reflective practices to identify when and why we might be feeling jealous
-
Tools for communicating and connecting with partners
-
Pathways to self-soothe and strengthen self-esteem
-
-
Connect deeper with yourself and the ENM/Polyamorous community through sharing stories about our journey through jealousy.
This is a safe, non-judgmental space where people of all genders, cultures, and sexual preferences will be respected and supported. This is also a brave space that values risk, growth, connection, and vulnerability.
